The centre within its one year of existence hosted an international
conference captioned “Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe Memorial Lecture”. The
conference recorded a huge success and attracted numerious academics
from both within and outside Nigeria.
The centre has presently organized the teaching of
spoken/conversational Igbo to those who do not speak but are
enthusiastic to learn to speak the language and know the Igbo culture.

There is a plan to engage in what the centre calls “Salvage Igbo
Ethnography ” project; which will take our researches to all nooks and
corners of Igbo land. For this, we are soliciting funds for the
purchase of a serviceable bus from public spirited Igbo sons/daughters
to help the centre realize this goal.
The centre in doing the best it can to establish links with outside
bodies such as the Igbo studies association USA and African Studies
Association also in USA.
Other activities of the centre will be made know as time goes on
since it is relatively a new establishment.
